a1 Download https://www.7-zip.org/download.html 7-ZIP, 32 or 64bit for your computer. If uncertain, select 32. Click the file DOWNLOAD and observe in which folder it is landing. When downloaded, open the folder. Double-click the file and observe where it will be installed (path displayed). Follow the installation sequence and instruction. Choose Add Desktop Shortcut if offered. |

If no short-cut icon is found on desktop open 7-ZIP installation folder. Right click the file 7zFM.exe as stated in the picture. Create short-cut using Send-to-Desktop. |

c1 To open the program 7-ZIP automatically when double-clicking the *.7z and *.zip files the File Association must be established.
Open / run the 7-ZIP program from the desktop icon. The user window GUI should show. Select TOOLS, then SYSTEM. As shown in picture select (mark) 7z and zip, more if you desire, click APPLY further down, then OK. |

d1 In Windows file explorer create a folder named Unzipped on the level where Documents and Downloads appear. Open the folder.
Copy the path above the empty folder file list, Ctrl+C. Double-click a *.zip file in your Download folder, or whereever there is one. Select EXTRACT in the 7-ZIP window. Note the path shown where extracted file will be deposited. Mark the path, replace it with the path to [Unzipped] using keys ctrl+v, or type the path. Click OK. If the file needs a password to open, a small window will offer a field to type in the password. Click OK, open [Unzipped] folder and find your files. |
